Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RoleCheck mobile application and related services (the "Service"), provided by RoleCheck ("we", "our", or "us"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using RoleCheck, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using RoleCheck on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use RoleCheck.

2. Description of the Service

RoleCheck generates personalized reports estimating how exposed a given occupational role is to AI-driven automation, based on:

  • U.S. Department of Labor occupational data (O*NET);
  • The role context, tasks, and other inputs you provide;
  • Current AI capability assessments.

RoleCheck reports are informational only and do not constitute professional, financial, legal, or career advice. The analysis is a model-based estimate, not a prediction of any individual outcome. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on a report. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any report or forecast.

3. User Accounts

To use most features of RoleCheck, you must sign in with Apple Sign In or Google Sign In. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating your account;
  • Keep your sign-in credentials secure;
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account;
  • Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app or by emailing support@rolecheck.app.

4. Purchases and Pricing

RoleCheck is a one-time purchase model, not a subscription. Pricing is tiered per role:

  • Your first role report: $19.99 (USD)
  • Your second role report: $14.99
  • Your third and subsequent role reports: $9.99 each

Pricing in non-USD currencies is set by the App Store and may differ. Once purchased, a report is permanently available in your account. You may re-download the PDF at any time as long as your account remains active.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by RoleCheck. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.

Changes to pricing

We may change pricing for new purchases at any time. Changes do not affect reports you have already paid for.

5. Intellectual Property

Our content

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and logos, is owned by RoleCheck and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

O*NET data

RoleCheck incorporates information from the O*NET database, developed by the U.S. Department of Labor and used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). O*NET is a trademark of the U.S. Department of Labor. We are not endorsed by or affiliated with the U.S. Department of Labor.

Your content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (including custom tasks and notes). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, store, and process that content solely to provide and improve the Service.

Your reports

The PDF reports generated for you are yours to keep, share personally, and reference. You may not resell or redistribute reports as a commercial product.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law;
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercialize reports or the Service;
  • Submit false information to abuse pricing tiers;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks;
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.

We do not warrant that reports will be accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROLECHECK AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoleCheck and its operators from any claim, demand, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party right.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or used the Service in a way that risks harm to us or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) will survive.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, U.S.A., excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. This does not affect mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.

13. Apple App Store Terms

If you obtained RoleCheck through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and RoleCheck only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. To the extent these Terms provide any usage rules or end-user license terms, those terms apply to your use of RoleCheck on Apple devices in addition to Apple's standard EULA. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of the relevant provisions of these Terms.
