Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how RoleCheck ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the RoleCheck mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. When you sign in with Apple Sign In or Google Sign In, we receive your email address (or a relay email) and a unique user identifier from the provider.
  • Role context. Information you enter to generate a report — your selected occupation, industry, years of experience, work mode (remote / hybrid / in-office), and the tasks you select or describe.
  • Custom tasks. Optional free-text tasks you add to a scan to describe work specific to your situation.

Information collected automatically

  • Purchase information. When you make a purchase, Apple confirms the transaction with us via App Store receipt; we receive the product identifier, transaction date, and a hashed transaction reference. We do not receive your payment card details.
  • Diagnostic information. Crash reports and basic usage events (e.g., scan completed, report opened) used to keep the app stable.
  • Identifier for advertisers (IDFA). We do not use IDFA for advertising. RevenueCat may use a device identifier solely to validate purchases.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your precise location.
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, calendar, or microphone.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate your AI exposure report and store your scan history so you can re-download it later.
  • Verify purchases and unlock paid features tied to your Apple ID.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Communicate with you about your account, purchases, and important changes to the Service.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.

3. AI Processing

To generate your report, we send the role context and selected tasks you provide to a third-party large language model provider (DeepSeek). The data sent for analysis does not include your name, email, or any direct account identifier. The resulting report is stored in our database, linked to your account, so you can access it again.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers required to run RoleCheck, and only to the extent needed:

  • Clerk — user authentication.
  • RevenueCat — purchase validation and entitlement management.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, database (Cloudflare D1, located in the United States), and content delivery.
  • DeepSeek — AI report generation; data is sent without direct identifiers.
  • Apple App Store — in-app purchases and refund processing.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Cloudflare D1 in the United States. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information in transit (TLS) and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing support@rolecheck.app.
  • Export your scan data in a portable format upon request.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To exercise any of these rights, email support@rolecheck.app. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and report data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, tax records related to purchases).

8. Children's Privacy

RoleCheck is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@rolecheck.app and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using RoleCheck, you consent to the transfer of your information to these jurisdictions, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

10. Tracking and Ad Identifiers

RoleCheck does not use the Apple App Tracking Transparency framework to track you across other apps and websites. We do not display advertising in the app.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of RoleCheck after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
